Checking out Books

  • Grades K-1 students can check out one book for  a two-week period.  They can check out one VHS video once a month. Please encourage Kindergartners to use the library-supplied bags to transport library books in backpacks.

  • Grades 2-6 students can check out  two books or a book and a VHS video for a two-week period.

  • Grades 4-6 can check out books on tape.

  • In order to ensure that students have access to books more than just during their library class time, students can exchange books (but not movies) every morning before announcements with their teacher's permission.

  • Your child and I have gone over the proper care of library materials.  I encourage you to help your child designate a safe place at home to store library books so that they remember where they are.  A high shelf or a drawer can be ideal.
