Library Plan of Action-This is a checklist that needs to be completed while doing research in the library.
Task Definition: Determine a purpose and a need for information. You usually need to do some background reading in order to establish the following:

Synthesis
- Organize your note cards, into piles, by keyword or by question.
- Type your paper. Use the proper MLA format.
- Organize your source cards in alphabetical order.
- Use the proper format for the Works Cited.
- Proof read your paper.
Evaluate
- Critically analyze the quality and effectiveness of the final product.
- Evaluate the paper in terms of content and format.
- Assess the product for completeness, strengths and weaknesses.
- Critically analyze the quality and efficiency of the the process.
- Reflect on the information seeking process.
- Explain what sources were used and why.
- Know when additional sources are needed.
- Make recommendations to improve results.
- Apply the grading rubric or criteria for assessment.
- Evaluate the validity and accuracy of information, ideas, themes, opinions and experiences in print and non-print resources.
- Continually apply the following criteria to evaluate the product and process: readability, authority, timelines, reliability, relevance, and point of view.

When using the CCS OPAC, you can do effective general keyword searching or a more specific subject keyword search. When searching for information you might start with the broad terms Holocaust or World War
II. When you are doing your search click on the title tab and check for the terms under subject.

Dewey Decimal Numbers:
to locate information on the Holocaust and other aspects of World War II look under
