Dear Parents & Guardians,
As you may be aware, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor and the President have both declared states of emergency. While it is important to note that there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Cambridge Central School, based on the recent information provided by the Center for Disease Control, in conjunction with the 31 component school districts in the WSWHE BOCES, and with the full support of Washington County, the Cambridge Central School District will be cancelling classes for all students, including out of district placements, and all school events starting Monday March 16th and lasting through Friday, April 17, 2020. Tuesday, March 17th will be a Superintendent's Conference day and all staff should report to the district at 8am.
We understand that this is an unprecedented decision and one that will cause a major disruption to our daily lives. While this situation continues to evolve we are committed to providing you with updated and accurate information, including steps that our district will take throughout the closure.
I appreciate your continued support of the Cambridge school district as we work to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, families, and community members.
More details will be forthcoming.
Dr. Douglas M. Silvernell
CCS Superintendent of Schools
