• Cambridge CSD Yellow Zone Testing Plan update as of 12/29/2020:

Goal:  To meet the 20% weekly testing rate when the district is in a designated yellow zone.

Schools located in micro-cluster zones do not have to close. However, schools within yellow designated zones must immediately commence a bi-weekly testing program, testing 20% of its in-person population (inclusive of students, staff/faculty). If the results of the testing during 2 consecutive weeks reveal that the positivity rate among the 20% of those tested is lower than the yellow zone’s current 7-day positivity rate, testing at that school will no longer be required to continue. If the results of the testing over the first two weeks reveal that the positivity rate among in-person student, staff and faculty population is higher than the yellow zone’s current 7-day positivity rate, the school will be required to continue to test 20% of the in-person population on a bi-weekly basis. The current positivity rate for zones can be found at:

CCS is working with the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad (CVRS) to provide:

    • The required LSL (Limited Service Lab certificate), CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) number for reporting to NYS, and onsite administration to run the operation
    • Necessary PPE during testing
    • Trained CVRS staff to utilize test kits (Binex Rapid Antigen tests ordered from Washington County) for students and staff that come to school (Hybrid and In Person)
    • Appropriate disposal of test kits and waste as required by law

    The district will:

    • Be planning with CVRS to administer the tests
    • Collect parent permission to test
    • Randomly select the 20% to test
    • Enter the test data in the state database
    • Communicate the results of the testing to parents if results are positive

Additional testing is required in Orange (20% monthly) and Red Zones (30% monthly)
