Following the success of its recent Cambridge Cabaret, Cambridge Performing Arts is proud to announce its next major production, StormQuest, an ambitious musical and storytelling experience featuring the Cambridge Central School Senior Band and musicians from across the region.
StormQuest is a suite of original concert band pieces that will be elevated through live storytelling, visual art and theatrical elements. The production will bring the music to life as an immersive fantasy adventure, combining the talents of student musicians, community artists and professional performers. The CCS art department, as well as students enrolled in Hubbard Hall’s art classes, will be contributing artwork to this performance.
At the center of the production will be the Cambridge Central School Senior Band, joined by musicians from throughout the region. The ensemble will create a unique intergenerational musical experience, with Cambridge students performing side-by-side with amateur musicians, music teachers, college professors and professional musicians.
“Music has the ability to transcend boundaries and bring people together,” says Darrell Holovach, Cambridge Central School Music Teacher. “Our students playing alongside community members will give them musical role models to learn from and look up to. They will see that being a musician isn’t something that ends when you graduate—it can be a lifelong part of who you are and a way to remain connected to your community.”
This will be the first performance in Cambridge Central School’s new auditorium. Performances will be October 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available for preorder at pcpa.booktix.com.
Following StormQuest, the CCS Drama Club plans to produce The Little Mermaid March 19–21.
