CCS Latin students earn gold, silver medals on the 2026 National Latin and National Mythology Exams


For 28 years, CCS Latin students have earned awards on the National Latin Exam, which was taken by more than 100,000 students in the U.S. and abroad. This year, the National Latin Exam was offered to CCS Latin II and III students.

Latin Exam
This year’s summa cum laude recipients were Brielle LeBarron and Wesley Galusha. Quentin Schneider earned maxima cum laude and Amelia Lohret received a magna cum laude award.

Mythology Exam
The Pegasus Mythology Exam is given annually to more than 6,500 students internationally. This year’s version included questions on general classical mythology as well as The Underworld. For more than a decade, CCS 8th grade Latin I students have taken the exam.

Fiona Keith captured a gold medal. Evelyn Clary took a silver. Melanie Devlin and Owen Shambo earned cum laude awards.
