Cambridge Central School District

Achieving Excellence

WELCOME TO THE CAFETERIA

  •  The cafeteria provides

    BREAKFAST & LUNCH daily.

Kindergarten  students may order snack/milk.  Also available to all elementary parents, a variety of classroom party snacks.  Please order these one week in advance.  For everyone's convenience we offer field trip lunches!

We offer a variety of food choices daily giving students many options for breakfast and lunch. The state has mandated a few changes to these choices.

Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeterias!

Cambridge Central School District school cafeteria continues to meet the tough new federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school.  Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school lunch!

School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.  Our school lunches will continue meet additional standards requiring:

    -          Age-appropriate calorie limits

    -          Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce)

    -          A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes

    -          Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)

    -          More whole grains

    -          And less sodium

We’re always working to offer CCS students healthier and tastier choices.  We have partnered with Borden Apples for many years and with Stannard Farms for a couple of years providing our students with fresh local eggs, fruits and vegetables.

School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families too!

We look forward to welcoming your children to the cafeteria.  To find out more about Cambridge Central School District’s breakfast and lunch program go to the school website at www.cambridgecsd.org  and to get the facts about school meals visit www.TrayTalk.org.

It is our goal to provide nutritious foods in a relaxing environment.

Mission Statement: To educate children on how to eat healthy by choosing a balanced diet using a variety of foods.
