Welcome to Cambridge Elementary School.
The community and staff at Cambridge Elementary School strive to provide the best educational experience for all students. We are in the process of implementing the Common Core Learning Standards recently adopted by New York State. As a school community, we are also increasing our efforts to build a Data Driven instructional model that will help us to identify student needs.
The most important goal for our staff and teachers is creating an environment where students develop a love for learning and excitement about school. As the school principal, I want every child parent, and family member to feel welcome and share in our excitement for learning.
Our students meet as a whole school once a month in a community meeting setting. These meetings, hosted by students, highlight a specific character trait that is in focus for the month. Community meetings are a fun way to provide a sense of belonging and promote good character.
Parents often ask me how they can help their children at school and my answer is always the same-READ!! The ability to read and write is necessary to master all school subjects and to communicate what is learned. Reading is one of the most inexpensive and readily available forms of education and entertainment!
We continue to look for ways to include parents and family members in our school community. Please feel free to contact the school at any time with any questions or concerns.
