Jonah Stevens ends high school career with 111 wins and three state appearances

Jonah Stevens is Salem-Cambridge’s first 3x NYS Qualifier. At the state tournament, he battled in every match and finished 2-2, just one win away from the podium. Jonah’s most impressive win came Friday evening. In typical Jonah style, he took his opponent down early with his single leg, but was immediately rolled and put to his back in a side headlock to give up 6 points. At the end of the first period, Jonah was losing 4-7. The match only became more intense and physical from there. Battling to the last second, Jonah won the match 18-13 to advance to day 2.

Jonah finishes his high school career with a record of 111-28!

“He earned the respect of his teammates, coaches, family and fans for the tenacity with which he trained and competed, and the sportsmanship and leadership he displayed,” said coach Frank Fronhofer.

Congratulations Jonah on a great S-C Wrestling career!
