Latin students earn gold, silver medals on the 2025 National Latin and National Mythology exams


For 27 years, CCS Latin students have earned awards on the National Latin Exam, which was taken by approximately 100,000 students in the U.S. and abroad. This year, the National Latin Exam was offered to CCS Latin II-IV students.

National Latin Exam

This year’s summa cum laude recipient was Brielle LeBarron. Scarlett Machell and Quentin Schneider earned magna cum laude and Jenna Babushkin and Caleb Blackler received cum laude awards.

National Mythology Exam

The Pegasus Mythology Exam is given annually to more than 5,400 students internationally. This year’s version included questions on general classical mythology as well as “Ancient Beginnings”. For more than a decade, CCS 8th grade Latin I students have taken the exam.

Wesley Galusha and Amelia Lohret captured silver medals (maxima cum laude). Magna cum laude awards went to Grace Lagant and Mary Steele. Cum laude winners were Lilli Dearstyne and Isabelle Galipaeau (all pictured below).

Awards were presented at the Latin Club Banquet.
