Elementary Students Appreciating Classical Music

On Saturday, August 10, Cambridge Elementary students Jenna Babushkin, Gladys Dougherty, Natalie Perkins, Nolan Thomas, and Brigid Toleman attended “UP in Concert,” a Classical kid’s music performance by the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC).

Throughout the school year, students in grades 4 and 5 were treated to a presentation of music from the Disney/Pixar film “Up!” by a cellist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. This wonderful program encourages the development of young listeners to appreciate and enjoy Classical music. Students participating in this program are then eligible to receive free lawn passes for themselves and an accompanying adult to a Classical (ballet or orchestra) performance of their choice at SPAC until they graduate from high school.

Music teachers Jill Chadwick and Melinda Smith thank the parents and families for attending the performance and supporting their child’s interest in Classical music and hope they will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy performances by the Philadelphia Orchestra for years to come.
