Four Teams to Compete at Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament

Cambridge Central School District will send four teams to the WSWHE BOCES Regional Odyssey of the Mind tournament on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Queensbury Middle School, located 455 Aviation Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.

Cambridge CSD will be represented by four teams comprised of students in the following grade levels: K-2; Grade 3; Grade 4; and Grade 8. Each team has been diligently in exercising their creative problem-solving skills with coaching from Mrs. Beth O’Grady and Mrs. Carmen Robinson.

During the tournament the teams have a long-term problem to solve and are provided the scenario in advance. They will then have a spontaneous problem to solve. The winners of each grade division will have the opportunity to advance to the state tournament in Binghamton in April.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend and support the teams. The schedule is as follows:

3rd grade team – Long term problem is at 8:50 a.m. (Gibberish), Spontaneous at 11:42 a.m.

K-2 grade team – Long term problem (Fashion Bug) is at 9:20 a.m.

8th grade team – Long term problem (Longshots- Div. II) is at 10:00 a.m.

4th grade team – Long term problem is at 12:46 p.m. (Longshots- Div. I), Spontaneous at 10:30 a.m.

Dance Party at 2:15 pm

Awards Ceremony at 3:00 pm

What is Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential. OotM proves that students can have fun while they learn.
