Voters approve 2023-24 school budget; Flint and Hamilton elected to the Board of Education


On Tuesday, May 16, Cambridge CSD residents approved the district’s $24.8 million budget proposal for 2023-24 by a tally of 335 yes votes to 295 no votes. The budget passed with 53% approving the proposal.

By a vote of 412 to 225, voters approved the public library proposition.

By a vote of 394 to 241, voters approved a $491,349 proposition to lease three 70-passenger buses and one wheelchair bus, which will maintain a replacement cycle on school vehicles.

In the Board of Education election, Edmund (Ted) Flint (439 votes) and Joseph Hamilton (455 votes) were elected. The seats were uncontested.

“I want to thank our community and taxpayers for continuing to support the district by approving the budget and the additional propositions,” said Superintendent Dr. Douglas Silvernell. “This budget will allow us to continue to provide all of our students with additional opportunities to pursue their interests and support our strategic planning initiatives.”
