Dear Cambridge Central School families,
I am writing to you today with immense excitement and gratitude as I introduce myself as your new superintendent of schools. I am deeply humbled and honored to join this vibrant community and serve the students, staff and families of CCS.
My career in education has been a journey of unwavering passion for student success. My commitment to this community is rooted in a belief that a strong school district is the heart of a thriving community. Fostering strong and authentic relationships among students, staff, families and the community is crucial.
At the heart of everything we do is culture. We will all work to cultivate a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture where every student and staff member feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. This means fostering a sense of belonging and community in every classroom and throughout the district.
We are fostering a culture of shared ownership, where our collective success is the ultimate goal. With a clear and unified vision, we are all invested in moving forward together. We will define our common goals and ignite one another to achieve them. This creates a collective drive for continuous improvement and shared responsibility.
We are all tasked with creating a learning environment that will engage and grow our students to meet the challenges of becoming creative innovators, critical thinkers, effective communicators and academically prepared for their lives beyond CCS. Now more than ever, we are required to think outside the box when it comes to meeting the needs of our students.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming weeks and months. Please introduce yourself if you see me at a school or community event. My door is always open and I am happy to meet with anyone to improve our school community. Your insights, perspectives and partnership are essential as we work together to shape a bright and successful future for our students.
I believe that it’s all about the students, and I am excited to begin this journey with you.
Sincerely,
James Ducharme
Superintendent of Schools
