CCS receives grant for elementary STEM cart

Cambridge Elementary School has been selected as the recipient of a National Grid-sponsored Maker Cart STEM grant, awarded through the Rural Schools Association. Cambridge is one of five rural elementary schools selected to receive this grant.

This award brings a state-of-the-art TeacherGeek Tinker Cart directly into our school, equipped with over 18,000 STEM components designed to deliver hands-on engineering experiences to our students. The cart comes paired with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)-aligned curriculum that supports more than 40 interactive engineering projects.

In addition to the cart, the grant funds professional development to empower our elementary educators to confidently bring STEM learning to life in their classrooms.

The elementary school plans to roll out the Maker Cart this fall. It will be placed in a classroom that will become a dedicated STEM lab, giving our students a dynamic space to build, test and innovate.
