We Are Instrumental donates musical instruments to support Cambridge Performing Arts

We Are Instrumental (WAI) has generously donated a collection of musical instruments, valued at approximately $10,000, to the Partners of Cambridge Performing Arts (PCPA), a newly established booster organization dedicated to supporting the school’s music and drama programs. Additional instrument donations are expected to arrive in Cambridge before the start of the next school year.

Formed this year, PCPA aims to strengthen and expand opportunities for students involved in the performing arts. This donation marks the second time We Are Instrumental has supported the Cambridge music program, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to arts education in the community.

This partnership reflects We Are Instrumental’s mission to improve access to music education for children across Northern New York by providing high-quality, well-functioning instruments, creating dynamic enrichment opportunities, and supporting long-term sustainability through relevant professional development for music educators in the region. More information about their work can be found at www.weareinstrumentalny.org.

The contribution comes at a pivotal moment for the district. The Cambridge music program has experienced extraordinary growth, with enrollment in ensemble music classes increasing more than twentyfold compared to the 2023–2024 school year. As participation continues to rise, access to quality instruments has become increasingly essential.

“We Are Instrumental has once again demonstrated what true community partnership looks like,” said CCS music teacher Darrell Holovach. “Their continued support is helping us build something impactful for our students and expands access to the performing arts in meaningful ways. This is more than a donation—it’s an investment in our students and their future. Our students deserve rich opportunities in music, art, theater, athletics, and hands-on, trade-based learning that prepare them for meaningful, healthy lives.”

Community members interested in supporting Partners of Cambridge Performing Arts are encouraged to get involved. For more information or to sign up for a mailing list, please contact PCPA at partnersofcambridgearts@gmail.com.
